Come down here, deer

#1 Post by Rich4349 » Tue Oct 06, 2020 2:32 pm

Seeing as how everyone here has done a very good job of warning us of the dangers of suspending mains over the heads of litigants (at least without an engineer's signature), have any of you used or considered using 10-16' tall deer hunting tripod stands? Some, like this one, are rated to 500 lbs, which allows for plenty of room for error and rigging points for ratchet straps. Hell, there's enough surplus to offer a trusted person VIP viewing. Yes, one this tall goes almost TOO high for barely overhead aiming, but would probably work well for a country bonfire party. It might be prudent to modify the ladder rungs to be of a fold up style, that could be locked in place.

Nice "outside-the-box" thinking.
