Floorstanding TLAH and Center SLA.

#1 Post by Benj Ross »

Here are some Tlahs and a flat Sla I just delivered. He has a THT 30" wide to go with these and four Sla surrounds are in the works.

In room.

Jatoba baffle stained to match the flooring he had installed recently. Tang band 4" woofers and Onkyo Tweeters. Magnetic grilles.

Sound is just incredible. Bank robbery scene in the Dark knight was unreal. Or rather super real. Felt the shotguns and when the glass hit the floor from broken windows it sounded like it was in the room. All the speakers just meld together and disappear, and that was before any EQ. I will say that the flat center has a real limited sweet spot. I haven't built a curved center yet, but I can say I think it would be the way to go.

I will post a more thorough review in the reviews section and hopefully the owner will chime in.

I would suggest that anyone on the fence get off the fence and get into the shop.

Thanks Drey. Two coats of red chesnut verathane for color and two coats of satin urethane. The jatoba takes a stain pretty well. I had a couple small flooring samples to work off of. It was great to see how well it matched the rest of the flooring when I got there.

Beautiful job. It seems criminal to use the grills.
