Jack lite 12 or 15 or DR250? What do you suggest?

#1 Post by Lustyik » Mon Mar 13, 2017 8:02 am

Hi,

We are five, we play rock music from 70's-80's.
We play in small gigs up to 100 people, mainly inside.

I would like to mike drums as well (kick, tams and snare) but I don't wanna use bass speakers if it is feasible.

What do you think about Jack12 lite or J15 lite?
A pair of J12 or J15 would be good enough for our band, or I should chose DR250 instead?

If you intend to put kick drum with any volume whatsoever, then none of them will suffice without a sub. If you just want a little snap, fine.....but do not boost any lower range on the kick unless you like buying drivers.

4 - OT12 2512 Melded/NSD2005
1 - T24
2 - XF210

DR250 if you've got the skills to build it, J12 or J12L if not. They're plenty for 100 seats, and will take moderate levels of bass and kick drum. Should you ever need higher levels of kick and bass add some T39 and you're good to go.
