Cut list

#1 Post by unclemartha » Wed Jan 25, 2017 6:25 pm

I received the plans for my Jack 12 Lite today. Looks fun! Typically BB ply comes in 5x5 sheets. The Jack 10 had a cut list. So here is my question(s). How many sheets of 1/4 and 1/8 do I need to may 2 Jack 12 Lites. Also, I can not carry a 5 foot wide sheet. If I cut a foot off the width will I be able to build without too much waste? I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Layout your cuts on paper - you might be able to rip the boards to proper widths that let you utilize the material the best - that will allow you to get the most bang for your buck instead of just whacking off 1 foot of every sheet.

You might also try this free program (donate if you feel it's worth it) http://delphiforfun.org/Programs/CutList.htm
Load your parts on the LH column, and your supply sheets in the RH column, hit "find solution", and it will come up with an efficient way to cut the sheets for the parts needed.
