Studio monitors

I've been messing around with various speaker designs for a while, and had the pleasure of building a couple of designs of Bill's. After moving into a house with some space (and where WAF isn't a concern because they're never seen :) ), I wanted to embark on a 'good build project' that'll keep me out of mischief for a while!

I'd like to build a really nice pair of studio monitors, and wondered if the DR200 or 250 would be suitable. I have a pair of T18s that I absolutely love (and my Omni15 wouldn't fit into my suitcase), but they aren't necessary if I have a good stereo pair of...something!

I understand that it's probably overkill for the application, but I do enjoy being different :)

If the DR series isn't suitable, would the Jack series be?

For studio monitors I'd do the PA version of the Simplexx 10 loaded with the Beta 10CX and HF driver, or the Simplexx 12 loaded with the Beta 12 CX and HF driver. You still need subs, of at least the size of the Small Table Tuba. DRs aren't justified at the listening distances in a studio.
