DR200 Speaker

#1 Post by rbarone » Sun Jul 08, 2018 9:29 am

Hello -

Has anyone used either the Dayton PA200 or PRV MB500 with success in a DR200?

The Dayton has a profile that is close, & I don't know if the 3/8" added depth is a deal-breaker. The drawings seem to indicate that there is some room behind the driver. It's a really inexpensive proposition @ $29 - but only if it can work in the design.

The PRV is interesting because of it's very light weight. It is also a little less expensive than the recommended Delta Pro.
The Qts rises just out of the specified range, & I don't know if that is enough of a difference to affect overall performance.

Thank you for any insight.

If the PVR 8MB500 is a go, it may be the deciding point for me in going DR200 over OT12J. Been wanting a neo option for that cab. Bonus if it's a value option too. At less than 3lbs/driver, that's over 30lbs lighter than using the Delta Pro 8 for a stack of 4 DR200.

Three one-hundredths out of spec. Hope it gets a green light.

The higher Qts means lower sensitivity. It's not a deal breaker, but low Qts is what makes the Delta Pro 8 work better than the Beta 8.

The specs given in the parts express data sheet are different than what is stated for the PVR, indicating Qts at 0.57. Darn.
