Re: DEQ Auto EQ settings for DR250 ???
^ That's a light bulb moment for me...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Does this mean that at lower volumes the ends of the spectum seem louder, so these would need less gain and more cutting?Bill Fitzmaurice wrote:No, but equal loudness curves do.Rich4349 wrote: Does the nature of the DR's horn cause it to have a different tonality at significantly lower SPLs?
And would the eqing more resemble the chart, or its inverse?
2 DR250s, 2 27" Lab15 T-60s, 2 30" Neo Titan 39s, 1 Autotuba...and looking for more!

The opposite. At low volume lows and highs need more boost to sound as loud as the mids, at high volume less boost. That was the function of the loudness control that was common on stereo receivers, but for whatever reason not seen anymore on x.1 receivers.Rich4349 wrote: Does this mean that at lower volumes the ends of the spectum seem louder, so these would need less gain and more cutting?

Oh for the variable loudness control found on the Yamaha receivers et al back in the 70s and 80s (didn't keep track after I got out of the business). Wonderful compensation down to a whisper!
