Tuba EQ Settings and DCX 2492

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

Tuba EQ Settings and DCX 2492

#1 Post by doncolga »

Can some of you all share what EQ settings you use for your low end. I've never had or used an RTA, so by ear, I'd just typically boost around 62 hz about 6 dB. I'm still experimenting with the Tuba 30s...first gigs are this Saturday. I brought the following over from my build post for the Tubas...seems a better fit in the EQ board.

I'm hoping some Ultradrive owners can chime in on this to see if it sounds about right. These are my settings:

PEQ has about 6db boost at about 60 hz, pretty narrow Q.
Output 1 is left and comes from input A, plays left mid-hi, high passed at 90 Hz, Butterworth 24
Output 2 is right and comes from input B, plays right mid-hi, high passed at 90 Hz, Butterworth 24
Output 3 is subs, comes from A+B summed, plays subs, low passed at 90 Hz, Butterworth 24, high passed at 35 Hz, Butterworth 24, limiter set at about -15. Limiter kicks in when the mixer goes about 3-4 db over 0. That's putting my amp a little over 40 v DC max from my amp.

Does that sound right?
