The start of my BFM DJ rig

#1 Post by rec »

Well here it is roughly a year since I first bought my drivers from Mr. Langford (thanks larry)
Two OT 12's and the first of 4 24" wide t30's.
I am having a blast building now that I have figured things out
I played the OT's in the spare bedroom at low volumes and they sound incredible
Guess I did something right
Awsome designs Bill!!! :hyper:

Not to sound like a party pooper, but the first horn section below the driver appears to taper at too steep an angle.
Built:
6xDR200, 2xT39, 2xT48, 2xJack110, 1xOmni10.5, 1xAutotuba, 1xT18, 1xSLA Pro, 1xW8, 1xW10

Not necessarily. That section is technically the throat chamber, so the taper there isn't critical.

What's the reason for your choise?
If you havn't already bought the drivers go for the 3012LF instead, they will go louder than the 4012HO.

I bought my drivers long before the 3012LF's came out, or the talk of how sweet the titian 48 is for many different applications.
I based my original decision on the fact that Bill recommended the tuba's for recorded music and that is all I will ever play. I have zero
musical ability's. So I went with the top of the line driver (at the time), I am sure that the t30 with the 4012HO will probably do everything
I need and then some.

Here are a couple of more pics of my progress. I actually have the box seal up and the driver mounted.
Hooked it up in the spare bed room and was quite impressed, I had several things vibrate off of the top shelf in the closet.
I cant wait to get the second one built and see what a pair sounds like. I have to take the driver cover off and counter
sink the holes, glue in the final two braces and put a finish on the cab. I have to admit that when I was installing the driver my hands were
shaking with excitement. It has been a long road but well worth the end result. I have three more t30's
to build and 2 more OT12's........for now. I cant quit thinking about the other designs, so I guess I have the
BFM addiction too.

Thanks George, I am pretty proud of my build.
The sound is amazing. I have used them in a gym 3 times and I have more bass than I need
and the tops are crystal clear.
I have two more of each in the works. You will be very happy!!
