I've measured the 10.5 and it is not the ticket for big bottom.
This box doesn't have much in Bill's 50~60 Hz range.
Especially so, when compare to the hot midrange you would have to EQ down.
As noted above, neither does a commercial cab.
Not to say that 010 isn't perfectly OK for the intended use compared to commercial bass cabs. It's that our standards are considerably higher than GC's or those of the cab manufacturers you'll find there.

Absolutely.

But... the O10.5 bottom pales when compared to O12 or O15.
O10.5 is a whole lot easier to carry...

What kind of reggae bassist wants a 1X10 speaker??!! What kind of dibbly sound you going for?? Is this a bluegrass/reggae band?

My brother plays bass in a reggae band.

My bro tried a Omni 2X10, a OmniTop 2X12, and an original (not tall boy) Omni 15. Sorry to say that none of these options produced near the bottom end he needed - not even for practice at moderate volumes. Keep in mind the Omni 15 was pre-3015LF driver...

He currently uses a Fender 6X12. I'd like to build him the BFM equivalent when he returns from NZ. I know that is gonna be a two box solution. I'd suggest looking into a two box solution - two of Bill's moderate sized boxes. Still portable, but beefy enough to do the job.

1X10 for reggae bass!! :slap:

 hehe...I was editing mine as you wrote.

Even for practice I'd think you'd want something more than a 1X10! At least I would.
