Yup OTops look easy to build and will get the go ahead .
Read all the reviews on T48s and OTop12s and settled my curiosity.
All three of us (me, myself and I) are in agreement that when they are built everything is going outside and blast towards the Mississippi River 600ft away at the boaters this summer. Yeah might need a 2nd T48.
Thanks for your guidance.

I read the tweeter part that says not to bi amp , meaning I put a passive xover?
I like my current HF horns but want to try melded tweeters.

Been too damn quiet around these parts. I can't recall the last time we went silent for more than a couple days. I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE. :noob:

Ryno, whacha been up to? Any progress on the system tuning? Have you tried the auto tune feature yet? I forget, did your Driverack come with a mic?

Yes got mic and the auto tune was terrible, compared to your screenshot picture. Lot of echo I think .
Wood prices have gone into outer space so next cab on hold.
My uppers are so clear (at least to me) that I’m very happy for now.
My shop has been very busy with cold weather repairs on cars trucks and plows.
My roof over the kitchen froze up and leaked in and made a mess of the ceiling, first time in 21 yrs.
Been in the 50s lately but still have a lot of snow on the ground.
Every time I get my 93 Trans am on the hoist to work on another broken vehicle drops by.
I see you guys spell check differently lol with a q .
Dbx kept asking for me to turn up the gain x amount , the chart looking more like a sine wave , not like your example.
And also with the clarity of the system I don’t like a lot of the cd’s now they are recorded poorly , lol.

What EV's are you using for tops now?
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

EV’s ?
Peavey 1508 BWX , BMD750 P.Audio HF driver, homemade 1.9 cu ft vented cab. Xover at 85hz for woofer and 1.2hz for horn.
Equalized by DBX venue selection.
Price of wood went into the stratus sphere— 5.50usd for 2x4 stud 92 5/8 . Trees must be on strike.

OK, so did you get some plans for the boxes?
Or just wing it?
Take us through that process.
I'm trying to work out if there would be a response chart...

Used an online fill in the blank for speaker specs and built a trapezoid box similar to the peavey SP-5 with a vent tube per spec, but didn’t like the result.
So I used one of my peavey SP-5 cabs and portioned it off inside from the horn and braced it and made the corner of cab ports with extensions inside for tuning and added 3/4 plywood to the outsides , put polyfil inside and liked how it sounded so built another from the SP-5 group of 4 I had.
Yeah winged it with guidance lol.
The DBX has made setting up the xovers and eq really easy. I had been using Rane 23s 4 way xovers and Rane eq, very limited.
Also have Xkits xovers with replaceable chips for xovers, so I’ve tried a lot over a couple of years, and many different speakers .
Also been running those speakers with 1200 watts per channel while testing or experimenting. Now I’m using the 400 watt per channel Peavey ipr2 3000.
So I have a Peavey ipr2 7500 doing nothing , what a waste.
Hey I’m learning and having fun and keeping the economy going.
Are there measuring tools I can get to make an SPL chart?

I’ve used this Lenard Audio advice for my experiments
That’s where I’ve got 15 inch woofer on my brain from and large compression drivers.

There's a bunch of stuff out there.

You have a driverack, did you get the RTA mike as well?
If so;
A quick down and dirty method, if you can get a cab into a space that has at least 50 feet to the nearest "obstacle" all around it, would be to use the RTA function to get a feel for what the response is, at the cost of your time to cart stuff around.

Since you have subs, you're only really interested in response from say 100Hz to 20K...

Yes have the RTA , don’t mind carting around for fun , will look at places soon as snow is still here lol.
One cab one channel? Both ? 56 feet is a wave length , so for no reflection keep everything clear . Use auto setting on the DBX EQ ?

You only need one cab.
51 feet is 2 wavelengths at 40Hz, but you got the idea.

In your user manual there should be a section about using the RTA standalone rather than system tuning/auto EQ.

Handy hint in the PA2 manual is disable time out in the utility menu to prevent losing the LCD while you're trying to write stuff down...

this is in shop with -40 db pink noise left channel woofer and comp driver
Did this come out like did I do it right?
39 inches in front of woofer.
It says in instructions that there are six different graphs opt1-opt6 but I don’t see how to select them.
