Hello There ... Newbie (Lurking for years)

#1 Post by forbanger »

Hello everyone! So I have been looking around this site for a few years. I am big into dance music and home theater. Got some working knowledge on all kinds of sound systems.

I have decided to pull the gun on building a sub from Bill's plans. I need small so I am leaning towards a auto/truck tuba but will be using it for home theater. I've rear some posts that these go a bit lower than the table tuba. I just want to verify that these would work.

Thanks for any info!

Regards from Packer country!

Both the Auto and Truck Tuba rely on cabin gain that you get in a vehicle that you don't get in a living room. In a living room they don't go anywhere near as low as the Table Tuba. If you've been here a while you should be familiar with Hoffman's Iron Law: Small size, high sensitivity, low frequency response. You can get any two of those, but you can't have all three.

Welcome to the "fourum" . LOL, get it? Anyway, methinks you need to build a THTLP, and stand it up. It will serve both requirements quite easily.
