Ho!

How do your OTops sound on their own - and with the subs? They're a whole heap easier to make that DRs or JL's...

2x Jack 12 Lite 3012HOs, Matrix GT800. DBX PA2 Next 20 inch T39's with 3012's (LF). Sound reinforcement, then projection. FRFR. Love huge PAs, but at that stage in life when technology needs to make things easier (as in lighter!)

The OTops are great sounding speakers, but I always use 'em with subs. I'd be willing to do a small acoustic show with 'em, but never with bass or drums in 'em without the subs.....they just aren't designed for that. I think they are the best sounding vocal boxes I've heard. I can't compare with DRs as I haven't ever heard any. And I really like having two a side - the sound is warmer as the mids smooth out some. Fairly easy build and a lot of bang for the buck.

I don't know them all, just know there are different revisions. Some which stack and some that don't.

Very good Bruce

You only turn the top cab upside down, and stack vertically.
Look at what a flat piezo array is (from Bill's plans). Basically a bunch of piezo's cut to be all together and arranged vertically in close proximity. Think mini line array, whose response is greater than the sum of it's parts.

Stacking as mentioned puts the HF closer together. If you can stack your Eons vertically, try it! HF will be flatter, smoother and louder. Meaning you may have less probs EQing HF.

One of the set up routines discouraged here is side by side arrangement of cabs.
It's done by lots of people, but a noticeable effect is comb filtering. Sure, comb filtering exists with vertical stacking, but it's less noticeable as people tend to walk side to side, not up and down.
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...
