Welcome to the forum.
Do yourself a favor and buy all the plans on CD. Once you hear what you have built, you will build other designs.
It's not just a speaker....it's an addiction.

Hmm...are you biamping the tops or bridging the subs?Use the 4:s (4 tops, 4 subs, 4 wedges, 4 amps)

So, did you consider moving down the DR line to something smaller?DR250 is a magnificent choice, one hand carry in poplar. Also slightly bigger than I would like, but they deliver stupid amounts of beautiful sound so I forgive them.

Either you're reading my mind, or I'm already syncing up to the forum group-think. Three or four plans put one a significant way toward the cost of the whole CD, and I generally end up changing directions somewhere along the line.

Hey neighbor. I get to Table Rock on occasion, this weekend as a matter of fact. If you want hear some gear my DR250 T39 rig lives in a local bar here. Only a couple of hours.
If it's too loud, you're even older than me! Like me.

I got very lucky and happened into the whole kit and caboodle for basically the cost of the drivers. DR250's by Harley and T48 and W10 by a guy getting out of the bizzo, 4 of each but only three amps.Fourthlaw wrote:Thanks!Gregory East wrote:I'm out of Starwars puns but welcome along.

You really should take up Leland on the listen in. Get there for soundcheck and he'll show you what 10W per cab can do. Hint, don't stand too close or you will get startled.
BAT10, Bad Auto Tuba. Reverse folded TAT to fit JBL 1014D, 350W driver, voltage limit unknown.

Thanks for the invite, but can't make it this go round. We're trying to get our house prepped for--hopefully--trading with another party. Technically, we'd buy his and he'd buy ours, but it's called a real estate "trade". Fairly interested though. An excellent workshop sits attached the other house.LelandCrooks wrote:Hey neighbor. It would work perfectly for knitting tea cozies, playing canasta, and...well, building speaker cabinets.
Re: Finally! DIY Cabs that make sense (Hello from Missouri)
Ok--I'll ask him to keep me posted on the next few months. Hopefully, he'll be back this way in that time frame. I definitely want to hear some of these cabinets.Gregory East wrote:You really should take up Leland on the listen in. Get there for soundcheck and he'll show you what 10W per cab can do. Are you heading back over the next few months? I doubt I'll have a spare weekend for several weeks, but I am really interested in hearing a DR250 system. If not, I may have to make a road trip. Thanks again!LelandCrooks wrote:Hey neighbor. I get to Table Rock on occasion, this weekend as a matter of fact. If you want hear some gear my DR250 T39 rig lives in a local bar here. Nah, mostly doing bad puns.Fourthlaw wrote:Hmm...are you biamping the tops or bridging the subs?
But I have one amp channel for the subs, one for the tops and two for potentially different monitor mixer.
In build order:

3 x WedgeHorns.
2 x Jack 10 without tweeters.
2 x DR250.

Until recently I visited Chesterfield all the time (consultant with Burns & McDonnell Engineering). However, my wife is from that area, so we make the trip now and again.Haysus wrote:I gig fairly often in the St. Louis area if you ever make up north.
