YOU B******S....Now i've got the virus of speaker builditis.
well, I got to reading, and now i'm building a TT. Although, It's not going 100% according to the plans(apparently, i need to learn how to make more accurate cuts with a circular saw), it is going well. I pretty much have to redo every single brace that i pre-made, never gonna premake the braces again(some i've had to enlarge by a 1/4", others I've had to cut smaller). I only have 2 more panels to put on(yay!!!). So, hopefully i'll have it up and going by friday(dang 24hr cure time for the pl premium).
I'm using the tang band driver instead of the mcm driver. The 50% more xmax sold me. Hopefully, it will be everything i think it will be, and more. hehehe. I'm going from a htib sub from sony(which actually sounds pretty good for only being an 8" driver, thinking of running it along with the TT). So, I'd think i'd have no problem being happy with the results.

I started out with a circular saw and it took a while to get the cuts correct but I got there in the end. Welcome to the addiction.

I had the same problem. After a while I realized it was because my circular saw wasn't true. The blade wasn't parallel to the shoe edge, so every cut "wandered" away from the cut line. In addition, it wasn't perpendicular, so I had to set it at about 2 degrees angle to be good.
Since I've realized that this speaker building thing is here to stay, I got me a Makita SP6000 sink saw with a guide rail. I swear it cuts the building time down by more than half.

No man, you can mold a whole cab out of that stuff.WB wrote: PL Premium Advanced for the big gaps.
99% of the time, things that aren't already being done aren't being done because they don't work. The other 1% is split evenly between fools and geniuses.

LMAO. The sad part is you probably could with enough time.BrentEvans wrote:No man, you can mold a whole cab out of that stuff.WB wrote: PL Premium Advanced for the big gaps.
Woo just finished today. I've put 2lbs of screws into this thing lol. Plus 2.5 tubes of pl premium and advanced(half of that is either on my clothes or on my hands/arms/legs(no clue about the legs lol)).
With a little sanding i can make it look almost square!!! hehe. It actually isn't THAT bad, but i notice it. However, its gonna be at the back of the room and painted black, so, I don't think it will be that noticeable.
Anyways, I can't wait to shake the house
