Re: Hello Everyone..!Mobile DJ need your help :))
damn...I'm more confused then before open this topic !
now I'm considering to build two T48 (even if they're too tall) insted of a couple of T39.
But now I'm sure about DRxx. better build a couple of DR200 or 250 then four OT12.

as far as what dr to build. take a look at the size comparison of the two. just to give you an idea of size difference. since that may factor in. I would love to have a set of 250's. I hear both are incredible

Hehe, things will clear up before you've made your decision.mcmarte wrote:damn...I'm more confused then before open this topic !

I'd vote for DR200s and 16" wide T30s for you.
Here's the maximum recommended audience size for the DR200 and the T30:
DR200: 2 cabs to 150; 4 cabs 100-300; 6 cabs 250-500; 8 cabs 400-1000.
T30: 2 cabs to 300; 4 cabs 250-600; 6 cabs 500-1,000; 8 cabs 800-1,500
The way I wrote it above clearly shows the relation between how many of either you need for a given crowd size. Decide how big your biggest audience is and build the cabs.

yeah...I already saw this picture...but I think i will go for DR200 because I really like the idea to stack them in J array..and it's something i can buid by the time!
anyway I was looking at chart comparison and... Tuba 36 (with one woofer) seems to be stronger then T39..especially in the 20/60 Hz Frequency! It look really to be a little bit less powerful then T49.
This is really Interesting!

The T36 is 36" tall and 36" deep, the T39 is 39" tall and 20" deep. The T36 is a lot bigger.mcmarte wrote:anyway I was looking at chart comparison and... There's one thing you have to learn about speakers: They can do two of following things; Small, Loud, Go low. Two but never three. If you want a speaker to be loud and go low it won't be small, if you want a small speaker that can be loud you wont be able to go low, if you want a speaker that can go low and to be small it won't be loud.
The trick is to decide how loud, how low or how small your speaker has to be.
If you think that you can pick a speaker that can go lower than you in 99% of all cases will need just to be safe or something you will pay the price in either a bigger cab or a quieter cab.
I think the T30 is the best compromise for you since it goes low enough just to cover all of the content in your music and then you can pick how loud you want it to be and then the size will be as big as it has to, the T30 becomes the smallest speaker to still cover your needs.

You're incredibly right man! but at this point i would choose LOUD and LOW...and not small!Turntablist wrote: If you want a speaker to be loud and go low it won't be small, if you want a small speaker that can be loud you wont be able to go low, if you want a speaker that can go low and to be small it won't be loud.

like you say the Tuba 36 is deep almost the double compared to a T39 or T48...so the best choice would be T48.
I have just to check if I can trasport that sub in my actual car!!
I'm 90% sure about DR200... have to figure out which sub I really need!
Consider that, right now, I have a "W" horn loaded sub (that i guess today is not the most efficient project in the world).
many thanks

For transport in the car, a T36 at 18" wide, the door would have to be able to receive a 36" tall box. For two 18" boxes, that would be 36 x36x36....and I don't think that will fit in any car front seat, back seat, or trunk(boot). T48 at 18" wide is only 24" deep and just might fit, even two of them. YMMV

48" just fits across my back seat but getting a 2nd one in past the doors could be tricky. I can't see a pair of T36 ever fitting in a saloon car.
Could be a good case for super slim 10" driver BP102 T48's? How wide are they?

Not T39.mcmarte wrote:ok ok...decision almost done.

T48 or T30.
Remember that two DR200s are recommended for up to 150people, you mentioned 500. To match two T48s or T30s output you'll need four DR200s.

Actually not itp, not my new version plans, because Bill deemed BP102 unworthy of T48 after the 3012LF came into production.Harley wrote::iitp:Gregory East wrote:Could be a good case for super slim 10" driver BP102 T48's? How wide are they?
You could possibly pile 4 slims on a back seat. A lot cheaper than buying a trailer or upgrading vehicle.
Who's got the old plans and will spill the beans?
A 16" T39 next to a (photoshopped by Sydney) slim T48 (after Bruce commented on it being an oft overlooked box)
but nobody gave dimensions!!

+2...not in my plans either.
I remember Bruce mentioning the HL10c would fit in a 14" wide T48 with good results but I don't remember anything about a BP102 being used...(although it's assumed they would be ok just less output than the HL10c's...)
I mentioned it once before as an option for DJ's wanting to use them for the extended low end response over the T39, but no replies...
the 3012 or 3015 is surely the way to go with a T48, but if you already have a few BP102s floating around it might not be a bad option. My T30's are a pain to lug around, a slim T48 with handles and skids would be cake to pull up the occasional staircase.

just out of curiosity, what size baffle hole on the 10" version, is it the same as the T39?RubiconProSound wrote:+2...not in my plans either.

2 BP102s are required to match one 3012LF.
The 3015LF is the most cost-worthy option. As long as he can handle a 18" wide cab the 3015LF is the way to go.
