Links to everything you need for your BFD-build, in Europe.
I had the idea of gathering every good link to what you need for a BFD-build in one single sticky so I'll start mentioning some very good links and people are very welcome to fill the list with suppliers that you've found to have great service and price on what you need.
Later on, when the list is filling up, we'll make a sticky.
Crossovercomponents:
http://www.audio-components.co.uk/store ... tegoryID=2
Other links to Jantzen (good crossovercomponent brand) dealers (haven't tried them out though they might be worth a try). http://www.jantzen-audio.com/html/dealers.html
Piezos:
http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/search/produ ... KU=LS02367
Reliable and loud piezos. Not the cheesy kind you can find at some places.
Woofers and piezos:
reiner@hardware-test.de
He is an Eminencedealer on this forum and his seriousness about getting every bit of the deal right just took the breath out of me. The best service and very good prices. You can also buy the CPC MPT-016 piezos from him. He has also got a substitute woofer for the 8" woofer used in, for example, the Table Tuba.
Hardware, cables, stands, electronics, cases etc:
http://www.thomann.de/
I have had a very good experience with Thomann regarding service, prices and shipping. They almost have everything in stock that you could possibly need. They also have Eminence woofers.

Duratex alternative
Aldcroft Adhesives make a product very similar to Duratex. Here is one thing that is cheaper than the US product.

Other colors available as well, I'm particularly curious what their Red looks like, David could you find out .
My experience is that Aldcroft are not very responsive to email but it seems they are friendly people (just very busy I presume). Better order online or make a phone call.

+1 for www.thomann.de - I can't find a cheaper supplier in the UK for Eminence drivers (and they're not even in the UK!).
Also, as an alternative to Aldcrofts, try www.bluearan.co.uk - I've used this stuff and I've heard on this forum somewhere its the exact same product.
For Speakon sockets, back plates, handles and bass ports I use www.cpc.co.uk

PL adhesive in the UK
On my titan 48's and DR280's I used about 2 tubes per cab....order more...you will always find a use for it...
http://www.tool-net.co.uk/p-324986/ever ... 310ml.html
I have also had the stuff from screwfix, (the screw fix stuff foams, rather than expands, bit it still works well)
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro ... 0&ts=82078
I would happily use either, but preference is to the Everbuild Lumberjack, its cheaper, and does not foam quite as much...both are messy...
Once you have used this stuff I doubt you will ever use normal Wood adhesive again....

Re: Duratex alternative
Called in to see them today to pick up another 5kg tub of black paint and had a chat with Julie Aldcroft about colours & shipping abroad...AntonZ wrote:Aldcroft Adhesives make a product very similar to Duratex. Here is one thing that is cheaper than the US product.

They mix batches to suit whatever colour is requested. As fas as 'red' goes they have a large number of alternate reds. Julie suggested the best way is to send in a colour swatch from your local paint supplies and they will colour match it - ie mix it specifically.
Regarding shipping abroad, they are not happy to ship less than 25kg tubs, simply down to the type of container required to survive the shipping . The 5kg tubs don't tend to survive the courier. She did say that they are in talks with one of the speaker manufacturers that is opening a speaker branch in the US and they may well distribute it in the US on behalf of Aldcrofts....all just talk at the moment though.
