So a 1u rack panel that didn't fit the rack, didn't fit the hole spacing and didn't let you fit speakons...can you tell me where you got it from so that I can avoid it
2 x 3012 HO Jack 12 Lites
2 x Delta Pro 8b Wedgehorn 8 Monitors
Subs? Big question mark!

This: http://www.audiospares.com/product.php? ... =62&page=4
Image

Audiospares are normally pretty good (and very goddam cheap!), but this particular item was a false economy. In the description it is claimed that it is steel.... it's not, but rather alu. Next time I'm going with the folded steel option that is maybe a mm in depth, rather than this one, which is about 4-5mm deep, yet still bends as soon as you try plugging anything in! The one good thing about this item though is that you can screw M3 screws straight into it, and the alu is so soft (and deep) that the screw just bites itself a thread. I assume that this is by design, but seeing that the item doesn't actually seem to be designed, I think it's probably another mistake

Note: Jools - I can fit Speakons IF I 'front load' them, but that means that I will have to disconnect the leads from the chassis plug to fit the wire through the hole (something I am keen to avoid on a critical connection to my speakers)... rear loading is the way I'd rather go, as it doesn't require any of this faffing with cables, and looks better IMHO - I'll take some rig-porn pics tonight to post up here so you can all agree with me

I think so... DMX cable is ok, isn't it?
I believe AES is 110 Ohms, no idea what DMX, though, being a digital signal, it's either going to be there or not. A variation in impedance won't change the levels.

OK, DMX is 120Ω, rather than 110Ω  I will check for clicks & pops to check and see if it is ok. Annoyingly my DMX cable doesn't actually lock into place in the back of the DEQ, so I will probably get an out-and-out AES cable with Neutriks for this important link.

I have seen that mod site before. I was considering it, and looking at doing the DCX as well - pricing it up (2 DEQ ins & 6 DCX outs) was getting a bit expensive though! I never considered just doing the DEQ. In fact since I looked into it, I am now using the output from the DEQ for tops, so modding the DEQ only may be a good option - it's the tops that are going to be far more revealing of distortion than the subs. The only thing about those mods, is that after you add in all the costs, I might as well just have purchased a Driverack :wall:

For anyone attempting to build in the north-east of the UK, can highly recommend http://www.falltimber.co.uk/index.aspx

4x8' 12mm BB grade baltic birch for £25 a sheet.
Excellent quality and Matt who runs the yard a very helpful guy.

Also using the Everbuild Lumberjack 30min polyurethane as recommended earlier in this thread, seems to be working fine.

The specs are OK, but the lack of a front gasket will be a problem in rear mounting applications, like the T60.

I think that it would be possible to retrofit one, but yes one should remember to buy a gasket.

Bother.
There's a whole bunch of 1016 clones, I think the original was Motorola's KSN 1016A. I tried to search UK for some but didn't come up with much, or they were expensive.
Might be time to order and ship from the USA...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Thanks for the replies, was really looking for a recommendation of a retailer in the UK. Ordered now from Thomann as I've had good service from them in the past.

A bit late, but http://www.specialistelectronics.com/pr ... .0490.html have them for £3.32 a pop. Maybe it'll help someone else later on.

EDIT: If they had them in stock :wall:

EDIT#2: Searching for the sku (110490 or 11.0490) may help find them, especially when combined with 'tweeter' or 'piezo'. Some places have these listed as IMG Stageline MPT-016 as well.

EDIT#3: For big orders, go straight to Monacor!
