I have a SMD tl074 that I soldered the wrong way. I only have a regular soldering iron, no heat gun https://besttoolexpert.com/soldering-gun .
I watched some videos on YouTube on how to desolder SMD ICs with soldering iron, but a friend warned me to be cautious, since the heat can make the pads come loose.
Obviously getting a desoldering gun is a bit pricey for just this job.
What would you advice? Give it my best shot with my iron or wait till I get access to a heat gun?

Re: Desolder SMD IC with soldering iron
I don't have the experience of someone who does it a lot. But, the few times I have done it I used a soldering iron, solder wick, and a pick to lift the feet. Haven't had any problems with that method.
