I roll all cables this way....mic, speaker, power.....even my snake. And unlike a lot of snakes I see....mine lays flat and doesn't look like the waves on the ocean.

I found a similar video about five years ago and have been doing it ever since, however, I still point cable towards me. Now it just feels natural. Love it when I can take one of the ends just throw a 50' across the room.
