Simplexx 2x12 Build with Beyma SM212's

#1 Post by Fonkbass »

Finally got round to building my Simplexx 2x12.. :hyper: It's mostly stock as to the plans, i only used 2 handles.
The most difficult bit for me was cutting the 45 degree on the ducts. The timber merchant would not cut angles only straight cuts so i had to put together a simple jig for that..
The ply is good quality though!

I used 2 Beyma SM212's and 2 PHT 410 Tweeters...Blue Aran was doing a deal on the Tweeters. They are almost identical to the BGH25's
Tested it out for sound today and it's a beast!!! Nearly destroyed all the plates in my kitchen.
I'm very pleased with the sound of this cab, cant wait to gig with it!
Clear highs smooth mids and sweet bass.
Lots of punch (bass hits you in the chest when thumping) and lots of twang (upper mids hit you in the neck when pulling the strings)

weight 32kg/70.5lbs I've noticed a few builders using castors, i might do the same!

Oh Yeah! waiting for my grill to arrive...last bit!

Photos to follow!!
