Tuba 24 30" wide

#1 Post by travisb85234 »

Finished my two Tuba 24's. Testing them at 31 volts and they sound great. See my video: https://youtu.be/7KH4iCOKNl8

Travis, welcome to the forum! :hyper:

If I may ask, what drivers and how many per cab? How are the wired?

Not too shabby on the build. What plywood did you build them out of? What is the finish? More details, please! :cowboy:

There are two kappa pro 10lf per cab. Built with 1/2 inch Baltic birch with duratex finish. Purchased most of the supplies from Leland at speaker hardware. There are two drivers per channel at 4ohm running on a crown xls2500. Crossover is a driverack pa2 at 45htz low pass and 80htz hi pass.

SCHWEET!!!

Will you be getting them out to "stretch their legs" (gig) anytime soon? Curious, why do you cross over to the tops so low?

I hope that's a 45hz high pass and 80hz low pass.

It's awfully dangerous having the volume on the sub amp anywhere but all the way up. Your limiter won't do any good if someone comes up and dimes the volume knobs.

Good point, right now I just have it in my garage and I'm the only one that messes with it but you never know. How do you adjust your input signal so your volume on the amp is all the way up?

Haha I just built these to have nice sound in my garage but I had no idea how loud they would get. I might take them camping at the lake this summer.

I'm still a rookie so I still have a lot to learn. Where should I set it? 100htz?

Simple....just turn the knobs all the way up. That's your starting point, then go back through and re-set you limiter.
