rig test

#1 Post by quickdraw »

Had chance to test many variations of new rig last month at fairgrounds.

Set up was in a giant convention hall that seats 1800

198 ' x 86 ' , cement floors, 25 ' unfinished ceilings. Seating for 500 in front of riser stage 24 ' wide x 12 ' deep x 4 ' high.

Back half and sides of venue was standing room.

Rig was
8 t48
4 dr
2 jack
2 genie sl24
Producer x32 w Crown xti on Audio Arc.
95 to 110 db

Tried many different configs of cab placement. Singles, side fills, front fills, stacks and crawls.

No power alley, no drop outs anywhere while roaming ipad foh.

Extremely impressed with clarity and ultra smooth swept mids.

Lows were warm with hint of subharm added for kicks.

Amazed at what just 2 jack 12s on their very own did , just for fun.

I moved 1/4 the gear, 1/4 the power in 1/4 the time as usual and

sounded twice as good and clear as year before with commercial cabs.

Im Sold, Thx Bill
