OT12 & T39s

I'd built these with a couple of friends towards the back end of last year, the OT12s have the base level driver with melded array and the T39s are 22" with Lab12s. They've sat various places and been played loud, I think the last review I did was having played with them in a church hall and been impressed.

This time they were outside on a little green next to a main road under a canopy for the queen's jubilee street party type thing. Under a canopy as it rained for a fair proportion of the day which kinda ruined things a little but hey, that's English summertime for you.

Anyway the OTs were sat on stands at head height about 20ft apart and the T39s were stacked one atop the other in a corner under the canopy. There was an assortment of musical genres from classical to pop to jazz to blues and the system ate them all up with ease, even the more modern dance stuff I threw in there was handled with aplomb. Due to the horrible weather there was no real time to set things up how I'd like, so no proper placement or v-plating and zero EQ which meant they were running flat as a pancake all day using my initial settings. Even with all these little niggly things they still sounded fantastic.

I think the best compliment I can give to these is they sound like a really high quality home stereo setup but far more hardy and capable of insane volume. They got cranked as the canopy was being disassembled and it was really bloody loud but still obscenely clear. Beautiful.

I've got some short videos which don't really focus on the setup but rather people wandering about but you can hear pretty well in them. I'll get them uploaded. Trust me, it wasn't a pretty setup but I only had about 20 minutes to do it in.

I will say though that I grabbed some velcro cable wraps which came in very handy keeping things neat.

Yep, I know what you mean, I also use some of those velcro cable straps even on stage with bands etc. really handy as you say.

I'll get some more audio focussed ones as soon as the weather lets up and I can set up in the back garden (visual delight that it is). I love how stupidly clear the tops are, I notice in one of the videos about 12/13 seconds in there's a little audio anomaly but I think that may have been someone having left the mic on.
