The full size SLA Pro has two ports 'one on each side', I just used one port in the back since its only half the size.

Would a home recording(studio) be a good application for the Mini SLA Pros?
Beautiful build by the way!

My own opinion and I am not an expert just an old music buff who likes all aspects of music, I don't think these would be what you're looking for in a home recording studio. In that kind of environment I believe you would want a set of monitors that focus more on how accurate they reproduce music rather that the main goal being more on the SPL side of things. Don't get me wrong, these little guys sound fantastic and I'm sure anyone who heard them would agree but they get loud and in your face fast, not so sure that's what you would want in your case, UNLESS that's what you're looking for..Hope that helps a little.

I took my Mini's to practice along with my Jack 10's and a T39 tonight and after we had finished rehearsing I had time to compare the 2 sets of cabs .

Well, the Mini's sounded equally as impressive as the Jacks with recorded music and vocals.

I had saved a preset on the Peavey VSX 26 for each set of cabs which contains all the eq's crossovers etc ,so it was quick to compare the 2 sets of cabs.

All in all very impressed

Finally got around to making a small little youtube vid of these. Not to fancy, just a short clip before friends came over. I had to keep the volume down due to the THT causing the mic to go thud! lol

Wow, those things are crisp. Must be the mic. But they sure are clear.

They are very crisp and tight sounding if you understand what I mean. They are the best mid range sounding bookshelf size speaker I have heard. I love them. They were exactly what I was wanting and needing in my basement to pull clubish type duties. Coupled with the THT, my basement will get to scary spl levels and the entire house will get pounding. Its awasome and makes for a great time when we have a ton of guest over.. If I had a better camera with a better mic that would let me video everything in full force I would love to show ya.

I've used my mini's for a few Duo gigs recently with a T39 and they sound great.
Backing tracks and 2 vocals going through the system and in decent sized rooms with a lot more power left.
Vocals sound great though these things and I get some funny looks when setting up the speakers on the stands, they look like toys .
I want to try the full size Sla Pro's now

Hey spoogin:

I like your project enough to copy it... Did you resize the main brace too?

I left the main brace the original size that was in the plans for the full size SLA Pros, I would imagine that you could make it half the size tho. I also placed the port in the back of the speaker, and it still makes for a nice handle to carry them. haha
