Best place is centered on a tie about 2-3 inches below the knot. Lapels, pockets, etc are on one side - every time the head turns the other way, you lose sound. Robes are even worse, the mic will flop around on flimsy fabric and end up facing everywhere but toward the speaker's mouth.

The jacket is likely to come off at some point during the message. We worked on it tonight and found the sweet spot is right beneath the necktie knot. Worked beautifully and better sound quality than previously.
