This shows a single piezo tweeter and a melded pair, on axis. Sensitivity is not referenced to input voltage, but all charts were measured with the same signal.
The dual tweeter array is louder than the single unit, but not by the 6dB obtained by parallel wiring drivers on the same plane. Cross-firing reduces the gain to 3dB on average, except below 2.5kHz, where the melded tweeters show considerable improvement in frequency response, extending the useable response to somewhat below 2kHz.

Here the difference between the melded versus flat array is 6dB on average. More important, the off-axis versus on-axis response of the melded array is 3dB better than the flat array.
