tuba 60 slimmer?

#1 Post by holzboss »

Can i build the TUBA 60 with the LAB 15 (because i already bought the lab 15) but slimmer than the 27 inches or should i stick with the original 27 inches. Because i have smaller doors to one room and it doesnt fit. Or are there some other speaker cases that are slimmer and i can build it with the lab 15??

Per the T60 plans, "Going smaller (than 27") would put excess stress on the driver, so if you can’t manage a 27 inch wide cab go with a 1x12."

The T48 can be built as narrow as 18" with a 15" driver.
Build in process - 2 WH6, one Alpha 6a loaded, one PRV Audio 6MB250-NDY loaded

Two 2x6 shorty SLA Pro's
One T39, 16", 3012LF loaded
Tall AutoTuba, 20" wide, 2x 8" MCM 55-2421
TruckTuba, 8½" wide, 2x 8" MCM 55-2421

If you go slimmer you lose performance. If you must go slimmer use the LAB 12, if one cab isn't enough build two. Never choose a driver and then try to find a cab for it. Choose the cab, then use a driver that has the correct specs for it.

According to the plans you can build a Titan 48 with a Lab 15 between 18 and 36 inches wide.

Yup.

And it's depth dimension is 24". So even if you build it a full 36" wide, you'll likely still be able to scoot it sideways through narrower doorways.

Go as wide as you can transport.
