possible tuba30 driver?

#1 Post by ketoet »

hello

came across this driver that i would like to use in my new t30/45's.
seems like the ts parameters are within limits but would it survive in a horn?

https://www.beyma.com/en/products/c/low ... br70-8-oh/

i can get it for 75€ a piece so it seems to good to be true.
thanks in advance

If it's within the limits the designer (Bill) states in the plans; then yes it'll work in a T30. The Qts is high for both models and the Vas is out of range for the T45. More knowledgeable people here can confirm the eligibility of that driver.
BFM builds:
XF212
T24 BP102 24"
2x SLA's 6-5" mids, 9- gt-302's
2x AT 14" MCM 55-2421
TrT 5" MCM 55-2421
AT 18" JBL GTO804
2x OT12 flat array
2x SLA Pro 2-Alpha 6's 2-Goldwoods
2x T39 24" 3012lf
Simplex 10 BP102

It will work, but with only 125w power capability it's no competition for the 3012LF or LAB 12.

that's great. and how many of the beyma drivers would it take to match one 3012LF? what would the volatge limit be for the beyma?
they will never be used for a crowd larger then 200 so i can easely build double the cabs for what 3012lf's would cost me .

The limit for the Beyma is 28v. The difference between the Beyma and 3012LF is almost 10dB. Accounting for the difference in sensitivity of multiple cabs it would take two Beyma loaded cabs to equal one 3012LF cab.

thanks for the info bill. these will be used in my workshop most of the time so packspace is not an issue. i have several old lower power amp's that will work great for this.
the 'subs' that are used now are less than ideal.
