T24 Speaker Cutout Bevel

#1 Post by cafedumonde » Sat Dec 22, 2018 8:37 am

I am getting ready to start a build for two T24s and one TAT. Reviewing both sets of plans, The AutoTuba plans describe a bevel inside the radius of the speaker cutout, while the T24 plans don't. Is there a reason that it is necessary for the AT? Should the bevel be added generally for speaker cutouts in all plans?

The plans mention that it adds more material for the t-nuts to grab. I think I've also read in the forum that it is insurance against interference between the baffle and the excursion of the speaker. The reasons seem to apply to all designs.

Thanks,

CDM

Your AT plans are obsolete. That feature was removed years ago, along with the use of T nuts.
