Lab12 vs 3012lf

#1 Post by J_Dunavin » Sun Jun 10, 2018 12:29 pm

I apologise if this question has been covered elsewhere, but couldn't find it.

If you look in the SPL charts:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=540&p=3575#p3575

The last two charts show a 27 inch T30 with a 3012lf and a 24 inch T45 with a Lab12.

My understanding is that the two drivers are very similar in output, but I see, what I think, looks like a significant bump for the Lab12.
Is that bump in output due to the difference of the T30 and T45 or does the Lab12 have an edge on the output?
6 - DR200
2 - DR250
9 - T24
6 - T45
1 - Auto Tuba

These are the closest cabs I could get data wise.

The 27" T30 does look low on sensitivity, especially compared to the 2010 in a narrower cab of the same design.
Built:
6xDR200, 2xT39, 2xT48, 2xJack110, 1xOmni10.5, 1xAutotuba, 1xT18, 1xSLA Pro, 1xW8, 1xW10

3012LF and LAB 12 aren't the same impedance, S2010 has higher sensitivity but far less displacement and thermally limited output.

Ah. Yes I didn't think about them being different impedance.
And the Lab is 6 ohms? But installed the cab acts as an 8 ohm load?
