Bill I've been told to look into yamaha Concert Series Dual 18s vs a BFM. can you give me an honest comparison, I could swallow the cost of 4 of those without much difficulty

EDIT: specifically this model CW218V

Compare them yourself, using the SPL charts and voltage limiter settings for both. The Yamaha SPL chart is in the manual, according to that it would take two SW218v to equal the output of one 2x12 T60 with the same input. Yamaha doesn't list the displacement limited voltage, so that's anyone's guess.

At 25 to 35 hz it looks to me that it would take nearly 4:1, four of them to match what you already have.

Wait a sec, is their chart @ 1 watt/2 volt? Hmmm

Why does their chart display up to 1khz? To make it look nice and plump and "full of sound"? Or do they realize many of *their* customers don't use limiters / crossovers?

If they ended it at 200 hz, it sure would look kinda lopsided, half empty.

So, I was thinking about your Quad Cab Monster Sub, and I like the idea, (if you have a big enough truck).
Although, if it were me, I'd keep the 4 individual subs and just strap them all to the same cart to keep the versatility of having separate subs.

Whether you have what's essentially four subs contained in the same box or in four separate boxes the whole will be equal to the sum of the parts, so I don't see the point.

I don't even want to think about the logistics of getting to the inner drivers of a giant 4 cab, 8 driver beast in the event of one of them letting go...
