I was pondering a way to skip the whole "change the table saw blade" step all the time and figured a dedicated saw may work better.

I hate to break it to you, but the tops are the real deal. I've used most brands in the industry and prefer Bill's tops to anything I've used short of $2k+ each.

Looking good. My advice would be focus on the subs to get them done and rent a pair of tops for this gig. Don't rush through doing sub-par work to get ready for 1 gig. You will be much happier in the long run if you take your time and have polished product to show for it... Also the SLA's without tw...

Why not take an SLA (on it's side) with a built in compartment (think jack air head) for a car head unit (playing usb versus cd for extended battery life)? The better (and bigger) the generator you have the better results you will have, but except for extreme cases (ie: far distance or not enuf juice), land power is still the better option...
