Re: Amp selection for 8 DR280's and 10 T60's!

I was thinking 2 PLX1802 to run the DR280's, Thanks Depends on which driver you use. The 3012HO can take more than the 2512. I'd say the 1802s would be good for the 2512s and I'd step up to the 2502 for the 3012HOs. Of course they will be plenty loud with either amp - just a question of whether you...

Re: Amp selection for 8 DR280's and 10 T60's!

What exactly is power shading? I do like the idea of 2 amps just in case one craps out.. I was thinking 2 PLX1802 to run the DR280's, and 5 PLX3602 for the 10 T60's? I also noticed the Crown Driverack series amps are pretty cheap compared to the QSC's.. Are they any good? Thanks Power shading is wh...

Re: Best method of mixing Bondo for patching cabs?

I never heard of premixed auto body filler. It can't be the same stuff and it can't work as fast as the real thing IMO. ! It is and it does. It's hanging on the wall of any discount Auto parts store and it's made by Bondo. I've been through two tubes of it building 7 cabinets. http://bondo.com/prod...

Re: Amp selection for 8 DR280's and 10 T60's!

With that many cabs though, you might want to consider going with a Crown xti4002 for the tops - one will do all of them as it's 2 ohm stable on both channels. Buy 2 smaller amps, and let them coast. Bonus is you can power shade the top 2 from the bottom 2. Can't do that with only one amp. My turn ...

Re: Amp selection for 8 DR280's and 10 T60's!

You can't go wrong with any of the Crown or QSC offerings. With that many cabs though, you might want to consider going with a Crown xti4002 for the tops - one will do all of them as it's 2 ohm stable on both channels. It'd be easier to power-match the subs in multiples of 4 to make best use of the ...

Personally, I couldn't think of a single use for a monitor like that. No matter how cheap they are.

Do you really want to mess with 70 volt setups?

Sony.....

You need to stick to one place. You've got questions posted all over the place. Go back and read some of the answers that have been given.

Re: Best method of mixing Bondo for patching cabs?

I've never used Bondo before, even for it's intended purpose of auto body filler. I would imagine that the instructions on the can assume the product will be applied in it's intended usage; on metal. Is there a different formula/ratio of Bondo-to-hardener that you guys use than what is listed on th...

This is a good alternative that I've considered.

Re: OTop12 Build Thread

Just let the tophat attach to the bottom of the platform. It just has to be the surface mount type. The it's just a single layer platform with a little ridge around it to keep it from slipping.

Re: DCX2496 Output Mod ???

As I see it, gain structure is not the issue. Maybe I'm not getting this, but if the internal gains are jacked up before the limiter that would cause what your seeing - wouldn't it? Have you looked at the internal gains to make sure they aren't pegged? i think his problem is that even with the limi...

I went ahead and removed the Cutlist screenshots from above so as to not compromise the build plans. But if anyone still have better ideas for getting the best out of the program as far as cut diagrams go please share. Ok, once again....put the parts for both cabs in the program - it will make bett...
