6/9 brace installed. I didn't put one way down in there, but made this one longer than the one in the plans to span as much of the driver chamber as possible.
Sanded away the paint to let the PL bond directly to the wood.

Re: What's to chat about?
OD of the driver is 8.25", cab width 8.5"... Just barely. I had to be careful with the placement because the drivers are deep enough to interfere with the original driver location bracing. It worked out pretty well and each driver is about the same distance from panel 1's intersection with...

Re: What's to chat about?
Cut the tongue off (would have been to the right of the new speaker location below), ran the flush cut bit around, and rounded the edges. It always looks so much better after that. Like a clean shave. New driver location is coincidentally a perfect fit. I'm liking this option. 20200427_201810.jpg 20...

Re: What's to chat about?
TruckTuba all buttoned up. Just have to trim the tongue off panel 7 and put a jack in. Well... all the finishing work too. 20200427_172942.jpg 20200427_172937.jpg 20200427_172846.jpg 20200427_172856.jpg . If Bill says it will work okay, I'm going to fill the existing driver location and put two driv...

Re: 8" vs 10" truck Tuba
Bill, what would the minimum width need to be to load a TruckTuba with 2 MCM 8's? I'm building mine 8.5" wide, 7.5" panels. It looks like I can easily fit 2, side-by-side, surface mounted in panel 1. I've been sitting on 4 spare drivers since 2009 and It'd be great to put them to use inste...

Re: Can i glue multiple plywood together?
you want equal thickness in each layer regardless of the number of plies. What you don't want is cabinet grade plywood as it has very thin veneer on each side and will separate under high pressures - especially in subs. What cabs are you building? Here they have 18mm Radiata labeled as cabinet grad...

Re: BFM Hit List...
This Cory Henry track is on my list for next time my system is out. My kids complain when I put his Hammond B3 album on on the Sonos - I tell them it's a necessary part of their musical education. One track is a particular 'Sonos breaker', but this one is more groove than frequency content, but wil...

Re: What's to chat about?
I was looking at the pile of lumber I have that's supposed to become four 30" T39's and thought that I'd better get to it before it becomes one of those things "I'll do tomorrow". So I started pre-cutting everything and got all the pieces done for all four and pretty much ready to sta...

Re: BFM Hit List...
Another song that just pounds on my system: Crush, by Polyphia. If you''re a guitarist, you have to check out Tim Henson. Simply unreal kid, so talented. He can shred with the best of them, but is so musical. I thoroughly enjoyed that track. Smooth, thumpy lumpy bass intro, developing into a bit of...

Sweet! Great job. Thanks for the update and little bit of a performance review. BTW, the stain looks really good. Really made the grain pop.

Re: 4 x T48 24" & 2 x T48 18" ... finally!
I found that using brads was much faster than screws. Align one end and shoot, align the other end and shoot, give the panel a few whacks with a rubber mallet to seat it, then fill in between the two initial brads with more every 4, 5, 6 inches (whatever feels right). But, the same caveat exists, no...

Re: XF Cab mod idea
How are ay doin' Guido... I'm going to take a WAG and say that no one here will be able to answer your question to any level of satisfaction. Here's what I'd recommend; build an XF to spec. Use it for a while. See if/how you like it. Then modify it and tell us all about your experience. Oh yeah! Vid...
