Re: Simplex 12 Bass guitar rig build
Just an update. We set the rig up for Bass Guitar duty tonight for a full-on tech rehearsal. Everybody in the band LOVED it and could not believe how light it was. I haven't let the secret out that I built it myself yet. Even though I had the pair of T39's and Jack15's for mains, it was actually not...

Re: Simplex 12 Bass guitar rig build
Perhaps a single pole/double throw SPDT switch will work for you. It would be positioned before the filters for the tweets since each tweet has a different filter demand (filters as per the plans). That is exactly what I was thinking Tom. I have my eye on this one at the moment: https://www.parts-e...

Re: Simplex 12 Bass guitar rig build
Good point CoronaOperator, I should have known better. I wasn't thinking about the actual magnetic fields crossing one another. Of all the speakers and crossovers I've built in my day, this was actually the first time I had inductors that were just raw coils of wire ( as opposed to having some sort ...

Simplex 12 Bass guitar rig build
Built a pair of Simplex 12's over this past weekend for use as Bass Guitar backline. Used the 3012LF and the BGH25 for drivers. Finished Cabinets weigh in at about 32 pounds each. These things are light and SOLID! Using an online cut sheet program, I was able to fit everything for two cabinets (exce...

Re: Best way to fill holes (larger than screw holes)
Thanks for the advice guys. I combined the advice and put the small backer board inside the cab behind each unwanted hole. For the 2" hole, I cut some slightly smaller circles with a hole saw. For the speakons, I just used the backer board and PL. Seems sufficient. I used a pull-saw to trim the...

Best way to fill holes (larger than screw holes)
We have a 2" hole in the bottom of our Jack 15's that was used for the pole mount but we'd like to relocate it. (We originally placed the pole mount at what we found to be the center of gravity (front to back) but it looks so strange on the pole we think we'd be better to center it. What is the...

QSC GXD series limiters
Does anyone know with certainty that the limiters in the DSP section of the QSC GXD amplifiers are suitable for use with Titan subs? The settings seem a little too user friendly (Mild, Medium, Aggressive) and make me worry. I currently use a driverack PA2 with some GX7's and am really happy with it'...
