Music listening club / society
Has anyone pondered the use of BFD systems for a music listening club, or is anyone actually running such a thing? I don’t mean audiophile society in the sense of critiquing equipment (or cables), nor do I mean a DJ-club scene, but a place where people can come and enjoy listening to various recorde...

Are there no special tactics for brawling with the roo's? ...Poke them in the eye, ...kind words, or get the candy out...?

BFM systems and opportunity
I'm interested to hear of 'opportunities' that have opened up for people because of their BFM rigs and systems, that they don't feel they would have had if they were running ordinary commercially available gear. Don't want to rabbit on about my hopes, dreams and visions, but would like to hear about...

Re: Simple Integrity Test on Newly Delivered Speakers
Ok. Thank you gents. Frederic, your tone generator worked just fine and speakers are OK. Only I found that my HiFi amp is only working on one channel so am gonna have to get that fixed before breaking speakers in fully and moving forward. I know I need something better, but for now, it needs patchin...

Simple Integrity Test on Newly Delivered Speakers
I’ve just received a pair of 3012HO’s for my jack 112’s build. I have to assure that there is no damage to them within 24hrs, as a result of courier transit. Would there be a test or some simple tests that can be performed? :horse: I appreciate this is an elementary question, but I have just investe...

Re: I'm not just an engineer, I'm a novelist too.
(I love this thread!) I actually wanted to suggest to Bill that, given his eponymously-named site, an "about me/us" link is something of a glaring omission. I'd love to know more about him--background, interests, how he came to be a loudspeaker designer (and what formal related training, ...

Re: Links to everything you need for your BFD-build, in Euro
I think this page pretty much explains the process: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/tax-and-duty.htm '...between 5 and 9 per cent, but it can be as low as 0 per cent or as high as 85 per cent'. :wall: I've not imported goods, but am considering it, and would contact them ( :chainsaw: , :bash: ) for t...

Re: Jack or what have you sanity check
Ok. So I'm 'off piste' by asking why the J112 cab has a 2kHz crossover frequency, when the piezo's lowest frequency response is 3kHz or higher?

Re: Jack or what have you sanity check
Here's a U.S. Goldwood offering. 3.5kHz lowest Frequency response! Not near 2kHz cross-over frequency....? I don't know much about this subject - just going off the numbers.

Re: Jack or what have you sanity check
Thanks gents. All is confirming this is the way to go. Whilst I'm here and the thread's live, I've looked but cannot find the answer to the following: I've been checking the UK supplier, CPC, for the Goldwood piezo's. People on Basschat.co.uk are saying the UK piezo is the MPT-016 - fair enough! BUT...

Jack or what have you sanity check
Hello, I've been perusing this website on and off for about a week, trying to work out a way forward for my amplification requirements. Let me first of all explain that I like good quality, efficient, powerful sound gear, and would spend the money, if I had it, to achieve such. I play bass guitar (5...
