Re: Reggae bass guitar, what should I build?
I've measured the 10.5 and it is not the ticket for big bottom. This box doesn't have much in Bill's 50~60 Hz range. Especially so, when compare to the hot midrange you would have to EQ down. As noted above, neither does a commercial cab. Not to say that 010 isn't perfectly OK for the intended use ...

-1. What it will tolerate and what you should run it at aren't the same thing. The list of reasons why you should not run at an amp's minimum rated load has a number of entries. The list of reasons why you should has none.CptanPanic wrote:My amp works to 2 Ohms so that should be ok.

Re: Reggae bass guitar, what should I build?
Ok I bought the Omni 10 plans, and Think I will make a single 10.5 to start. I was thinking of using a BP102 since they are so cheap and I get in 4 Ohms. Will this be ok? Thanks, CP BP102 is OK if you don't care about mids, and with raggae you don't. 4 ohms is a bad idea should you ever want to add...

Re: Reggae bass guitar, what should I build?
I was looking at the O10.5, but don't like the response under 250Hz. Compared to what? Since no commercial electric bass cabs publish SPL charts you have no basis for comparison. The 10.5 has low frequency response equal to or better than any 1x10 I'm aware of. I don't know how the T18 would work a...

Re: t39 & o10.5cut sheet
Since T39 can be built anywhere between 13 and 30 inches wide it's impractical to provide cut sheets for all the possibilities.

Re: Measuring Loudspeakers
The mid/top cabinet is usually measured full space, or a combination of half space and full space, with the separation being the baffle step. I just use full space and ignore the lower frequencies. To get a standard half-space result below the baffle step you measure ground plane, above the baffle ...

Re: BFM T48 vs. SP.com 186
I think the reason they thump more than standing near a stack of BFM is because the subs are adding to the midbass that creates the thump, . Which is covered in the FAQs. http://billfitzmaurice.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=999 Though they would be more appropriately be called MIATFAQ. Mainly...

Re: BFM T48 vs. SP.com 186
It was to my understanding the T48 would stomp all over a reflex sub. ? It will. If your's doesn't that indicates that you're only using one, it's not being tested in a proper environment, and the testing isn't being done with the equipment necessary to do so accurately. A seat of the pants 'this o...

Re: OmniTop 12 ready to go to work
I really like the look of these! was it your idea to curve them or is that option in the plans? Wow how cool those look all grilled out Thanks. The curve isn't in the plans, it's just something I wanted to try, which is what I love about DIY. Any questions on what I did is in this thread. If its co...

Of course, 846cc versus 496cc Vd. But the Vd of the Delta 12 LF is only 243cc.djtecthreat wrote: The 3015LF trumps the 3012LF in output. Am I right?
