Re: Are 24 x T60-LAB15s Enough? ;)

16 T60 will get 135dB flat to 28Hz. Using 24 cabs you could set them up for cardioid operation, there's plenty of information on the web how to do that. Ever heard the Dancetronauts system? They have T60s and DR280s. That's what I suggest. Since you don't really want super wide coverage with the sub...

Re: DR build questions

Apply Duratex outdoors on a sunnyday, let them cure in the sun, otherwise it takes days for it to fully harden.

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc

Judging by the FRD and ZMA I'd say it's fine, but heavy.

Re: DR200s for 12volt system

I mean do a thorough testing of the complete system. The consequences if you don't can be severe.

Re: DR200s for 12volt system

Since they seem to average out with respect to frequency and SPL and you have so many of them in the array I'd leave well enough alone.
Whatever you do make sure you wring everything out before using them in public.

Re: Which Simplex 15 Cab?

There's a bad connection somewhere. The speaker is the least likely, but you can rule that out or confirm it by trying a different speaker. The same for the rest of the components.

Re: Potential THT driver

The specs are fine, I'm not wild about the price. If I was to build a THT I'd load it with this: https://www.parts-express.com/GRS-15SSW-4HE-15-Paper-Cone-Rubber-Surround-High-Excursion-Super-Subwoofer-4-Ohm-292-822?quantity=1 It gives up a couple of dB compared to the more expensive options but wit...

Re: DR build questions

Extra weight will change the parameters, so the old one has to go.

Re: DR build questions

Dust covers are easily replaced. Removing the old cover is a delicate job, you don't want to cut the cone, but it doesn't have to be 100% removed.

I did mine with 3mm Baltic Birch. There's also bending plywood, which has the grain of all three plies oriented in the same direction.

New TableTuba version.

Introducing the TableTuba Two by Four. Measuring just shy of two by four feet, for minimal waste if you use veneer, the TT 2x4 height is midway between the original TT and the TTLS. Mine is right next to my recliner, just the right height for an end table. It could easily be made with false drawer f...
