Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
As long as you can find similarly specced compression drivers in the plans that don't raise cab cost a lot. Roger, down the rabbit hole I go again, I've given up worrying about the cost of similarly specced anything down here these days man! Haha. Look out for ferrets, they bite. Glad your name isn...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
The most glaring difference is the rising response above 2K for the Eminence Pro, and that's lacking in the Faital Pro. Would the 12PR300 be better suited to the 1.2kHz HF horn option? IMHO Yep. As long as you can find similarly specced compression drivers in the plans that don't raise cab cost a l...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
What are you wanting to put them in, Keryn? DR280? Yes mate The way I see it, both drivers are pretty similar specs wise. I'm not sure if it's a prob for the Faital Pro, but Vas is higher. And the Delta Pro 12A has higher power handling ability. Don't know why. The most glaring difference is the ri...

Re: Gluing cones
So guess what just happened? No, it's not the BP102 I just glued back together. That's doing great. It's now a JBL GTO 804 that tore where the cone meets the surround. Problem is that the cone is plastic and the surround is rubber and the tear is right on the edge of the two. I don't see a good way...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
Hmm... looks like I relied to a post that is not longer I sense Keryn's frustration. It's quite one thing for a website to say they stock or can stock xyz thickness ply, quite another for it to be in stock, at a reasonable/justifiable price. Even after calling. Even though a good chunk of ply in Au...

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
Well, 4 x picked up yesterday.
Got a discount, so overall pricing was better than if I bought OS.
Bonus, no freight to me. A 15 minute drive each way pfft.
Looking forward to getting home when treatment ends to burn them in and try to fit them...

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
I ran some numbers for you, Grant. The calculated increase in maximum output based purely on: - Xmax, 6.2mm to 8.5mm is 2.7dB - Vd, 207.4cc to 321.12cc is 3.8dB - Voltage Limit, 35V to 50V is 3.1dB However, none of the simple calculations are really helpful without an accurately modeled or measured...

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
Just don't v-plate anymore since we went to stacking for the big shows. How big is big for you Bruce? Which sub model and configuration are you stacking? Bruce has 6 x T39 3012lf at 23 15/16" IIRC with Otops 12's and a T24 for drum fill if required, and places them based on coverage requiremen...

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
Rough crowd out there man? I have a cattle prod you can use.. Pfft wouldn't do a thing. I reckon just after breakfast they go "Is this working? (Apply to self, press button) Yeah not to bad, will need new batteries next week". If you weren't so danged far away, I'd give you mine! I have t...

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
When I can!
I'm a little leary outdoors with a single 12mm ply layer V plate anywhere were punters can decide it's an instant dance platform.
Maybe if I doubled it up I'd use it more...

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
Ok, that's the increase, but...
Does that mean with 1 cab I can expect around 126dB max at 100Hz with the 3010lf?
Is that the right number?

Re: Upgrading drivers in my 20" T39's.
With the same Sd it takes doubling of xmax to give 6dB of increased maximum output. If the BP102 isn't enough I'd switch to a twelve, as doubling Vd also gives 6dB. Thanks. Sd and Xmax is increased comparing the 3010LF to the BP102, and while the Vd of the 3012LF is greater than the 3010LF, it's no...
