You just have to be sure that it will go to 200Hz. Some have non-defeatable low pass filters that won't go to 200Hz. 50w would do.

Re: DR build questions

Combining tops with different frequency and phase responses is a can of worms you don't want to open. Besides, if the XF210 was correctly done those are guitar drivers.

Re: New GRS driver suitable for an ultra cheap THT?

The GRS 12SW 4HE models as well in the THT as any twelve, and has plenty of xmax. It probably isn't as durable as more expensive drivers, but so long as you don't get silly with it that shouldn't be a problem. For the price nothing else comes close. Make sure it's the HE, there's a less expensive GR...

Maybe. You'd know if you see the response change as you move the mic from one to the next.

Re: Cheap TLAH drivers

14 and 16 are probably close enough, being in an array. 12 is NFG.

Re: Modern driver options for Table Tuba build?

Some of us might be able to make recommendations based on where 'over here' is, but not if we don't know where that is.

Re: Cheap TLAH drivers

I'd do the RTA and consider any that are way off as defective. PE tends to be pretty good about returns, especially if you document the problem units with RTAs.

Re: My David

The Vas shouldn't be an issue. While you could use it for a stand alone sub that leaves a lot of wasted space in the cab. You'd be better off using it in one of the TableTuba configurations.

Re: Simplexx 1x12 Build - Woofer only

I hope you didn't glue the baffle in before cutting the driver hole, and the port holes if you're going to port, which you must with a low Qts driver.

Re: Cheap TLAH drivers

Test them with pink noise, filtered at 5kHz. It's best to do so with an RTA. If you don't have any means of doing that get this app on your phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ioanalyzer

Set it to Spectrum Analyzer, 1/3 octave, C Weighting, Slow Response.

Re: Walsh double Ohm

It's similar, but seriously flawed. When you constrict the horn mouth in that fashion it does push the corner frequency down by a few Hz. That's probably why he did it. But it also totally messes up response above that. Also, that's a rear loaded folded horn. They have an unavoidable flaw, a respons...

Re: Walsh double Ohm

I don't know what it is, but I do know it's not a transmission line. Googling it the Walsh is an omni-directional speaker. These crop up from time to time claiming to give a more lifelike sound. But the sources that are recorded aren't omni-directional, so... :bash:

Re: Modern driver options for Table Tuba build?

I don't know why you're saying it requires less power. In any event the LS10-44 will reach at least 125dB with a 200w amp.
