Re: Four DR200's Four T24's My Epic Jounry

What better way to bring together and engage young minds than :chainsaw: A CRANKING BFM SYSTEM :chainsaw: The tenacious, paint peeling, earth shaking, heart pumping bass that the Tuba line of subs are renowned for, top idea. What teenage boy doesn't love a good setup running on full noise, e...

Re: Yet another amp thread! What do I buy?

During the play session we had yesterday I limited it at 30 just to be safe as I knew it could take more, I just wasn't sure how much. Not that it got above 13/14V on tracks anyway. Nice that I can raise the level to offer more headroom if required. I now need to teach the people who'll be playing w...

Re: Yet another amp thread! What do I buy?

I picked up the GX5 at the weekend from an audio store in the next city over for a not too bad £334. I had a play with it set up through my DCX2496 and was fiddling with the limiter, the 49V Greg said the Lab12 is capable of running is the absolute top end before it starts to frazzle itself, correct...

Re: T39 22" with Lab12

I've amended the video info and thrown a link in there too. I can't wait to get both of them running paired and sat in a corner somewhere. :noob:

T39 22" with Lab12

We've finally gotten around to finishing off 2x T39 22" wides, only the one currently has a driver in it the other is getting fitted out tomorrow. This was the first time we'd set the DCX up with the new QSC GX5 amp and so the first time setting the levels/limiter etc. Both myself and my associ...

Re: Yet another amp thread! What do I buy?

EQ for now I can deal with using an old 31 band we've got sitting about at work until I can grab a DEQ. I think there's also some old(ish) amps there which claim to be 4/500w that I'll take a look at to get things up and running with the tops when they're built. GX5 on the list thus far then. Those ...

Re: Yet another amp thread! What do I buy?

The Lab12 is indeed a 6ohm driver, I recall reading that the cabinet on a T39 works to bring that up to 8ohm equivalent. I know about not pushing amps too hard which is why I've got no issues buying another at a later date to spread the load. I'm not ordering just yet so if anyone else feels the nee...

Re: Yet another amp thread! What do I buy?

Sorry, the T39s have Lab12 drivers. What about limiting the tops or is this not really an issue?

Yet another amp thread! What do I buy?

I know there are literally hundreds of threads on this site and many of them deviate wildly off topic when it comes to amps. I require an amp which will power 2x T39s for now, I'm building some tops soon but I'd like to make sure the amp is capable of driving both the subs and the tops with relative...

Re: Interesting

Yeah a great testing environment. http://www.abeltronics.co.uk/amptesting.php?z=jamaican_amp Gimme a break... That's the kinda homebrew stuff that gets thrown together for Caribbean street parties and such, you can see an awful lot of 'made in the shed' monstrosities at those things, it's awesome.

Re: T60 the destoyer of balloons!

Im going to try it when I unveil my new club system at our launch night in September. There is gonna be a whole lot of t60 going on, and I had already thought about bringing balloons, but I didn't think of combining the two. I might even set it up as a promo video... ;) Inform me when this is happe...
