Re: AT installed! about time......

But isn't that a big sail? How would one secure it to the floor? I once made some with a brackets at the top of the frame that attached to cymbal stands. I made them 2-1/2 to 3 feet high as I recall. YOu wouldn't have any pictures by any chance? of the shield. SO you are saying, if my crashes are a...

Yup. Infact shortly after, Gately started manufacturing and selling Nolte's "SnailShell" designs in clear plexiglass. They were deamed as being more efficient than a vented alignment. To me they just appear to resemble a Transmission Line: http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc41/mynym/Spe...

Re: AT installed! about time......

WOW! HD sells 1/4" 30-48" for like 60 something bucks and they don't have 1/8" they only have 3/32" 24"x48" which I almost bought for 25 bucks. I would need at least 2 sheets up front and 2 on each side. SO at least 6 sheets than frame it and hope to hell the wind don'...

Re: AT installed! about time......

You'll need 3/8" at least for the AT so that it won't flex like mad, and that stuff gets really pricey. Just out of curiosity, could you sandwich 3-4 layers of 1/8" instead of getting the really thick stuff? You wouldn't want to put any adhesive in the center of the panels or it would mak...

Re: AT installed! about time......

And there it is, going to HD to check out plexy for my drum shield so mince well get some for my AT. You'll need 3/8" at least for the AT so that it won't flex like mad, and that stuff gets really pricey. But where the shields are concerned flexing isn't an issue. Strength is, so 1/4...

Re: 2xAutoTuba results from USAC / DB Drag Race

In the video he said it sounded better with the windows up. That would make sense since the woofers are only 6.5" . If they were 10 or 12's I think they would sound better if the windows were rolled down. Just my thoughts, I dont know the physics of it but I am sure Sydney could tell us or Bil...

I'd love to hear Bill's take on this particular design: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2013164 http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/Audiobahn/6.5.1b.wmv Congrats on the nice score :) You can't see them well enough to tell what they are, though they app...

Re: Issues with OT12 frequency response

The source of the dip is complicated, suffice it to say that minimizing it will result in about a 3dB loss of sensitivity in the 250-800 Hz range, which isn't worth it. If this was a hi-fi speaker that wasn't intended to be used with DSP it would be a problem, but it isn't. Of course, using the righ...

Re: 2xAutoTuba results from USAC / DB Drag Race

If word gets around in these "DB Drag" circles Bill will be sellin' quite a few plans. Naaa... I don't think so. It's all about "I've got 20.000 watts and 5 extra alternators attached to 3 batteries and 6 capacitors" :wall: :wall: :wall: :? ... +1. dB competitions are abo...

Re: Opinions on CAMCO amplifiers?

Some on PSW argue they are weak on the bass and not built as well as a Lab Grupen. That's like arguing that a Bentley isn't built as well as a Maserati. What a bunch of maroons. :noob: Besides, everyone knows that Bryston beats all. I've driven a couple of Bentleys. They seemed well built. A ...

Re: Behringer

FBQ2496 has a parametric EQ built in. BTW, I've used Behringer's Shark (same type of thing in a much smaller package) and while they do work, they don't work well in the live seek-and-kill mode. A sustained high note from a singer, guitar, whatever, will trigger the filter just as quick as feedback...
