Re: Now I get it. Titan 48 content.

What did suprise me about the Titans, is what they did for my stage mix. Using direct radiator subs, the stage sound always has this warble somewhere in the lower midrange (although i could be mistaken it might be higher.) I have experienced this phenomenon in multiple venues, with multiple systems...

Re: T18

The top RTA chart shown below is my AT and the bottom chart is my T18. See the bump at 50 that the AT is missing? These were both taken outdoors with both subs on a concrete patio and the mic @ 1 meter. There was no boundary loading so putting either one of these in a corner changes the response dr...

Re: BFM T48 vs. SP.com 186

In my experience If you have enough wood to hold the threads and you use the right screws (Not numer 8...) you won't have a problem. I also don't play soccer with my speaker cabinets or bounce the around so that helps. +1. I recommend bolts and nuts with drivers that are over ten pounds and/or baff...

It does, but that's not the point. Once you get to four cabs the smaller chamber just doesn't offer as much benefit as the larger.

Re: BFM T48 vs. SP.com 186

Your 186 performs as one would expect with a horn that short. I would reserve final judgment on the T48 until you have at least two of them on line, and you've tried them in a room with a high enough ceiling to allow them to work, at least 10 feet. Since you plan on running four I would not reduce t...

First, I realize I will need two of them. CRAP! This has nothing to do with the design but has everything to do with playing with a stupid loud drummer.. -1. Force him to either get plexiglas drum isolation shields or find another gig. Why risk losing your hearing trying to match his levels? :wall:

Re: Omni12 (2x10) compared to a 2x12 + 6" conventional cab ??

Why are the T-nuts on the outside of the panel flanges? The answer is... I don't know. Chaulk it up to working too long late at night when I should have went to bed. :D They are Gorilla glued in so they are not going anywhere.. Don't be so sure, there's a lot of air pressure pushing against the bac...

Re: First Build Experience: T39 with dual bp102's, 23" width

The problem is most router tables don't have a fence that will set 7" +/- from the bit. I agree. When I was looking for a usable router table, I found they were too small and flimsy. I ended up making one out of baltic birch, which doubles as a run out table for my little table saw. That's why...

If it's polyethylene or polypropylene nothing will glue it, the stuff's Teflon like in its resistance to adhesives.

Re: First Build Experience: T39 with dual bp102's, 23" width

This sounds like the perfect justification for a 2nd router, permanently installed in a table. If you do make it a 3HP with half-inch collet bits, smaller doesn't cut it. OTOH 3HP is too unwieldy for free-hand. I've got a 2HP for that, but still using 1/2" collet bits, which run far ...

Re: PL Turbo, where to buy?

One of my clients is the PL sales rep, and I got some PL Turbo from him. This stuff sets up FAST. You have about 60 seconds to get your piece in place, then hold for 3 minutes and you are done. If you are gluing large pieces, or are just plain slow, Turbo is not for you. I don't think it has the st...

Re: Omni12 (2x10) compared to a 2x12 + 6" conventional cab ??

Next is the use of sound deadener on the panels. Specifically a product called Peel and Seal I found at Lowes. I added pics of when I was applying it. Is it a significant improvement in the sound of the cab? I don't know. . That stuff is a 'might not help can't hurt' product. It will dampen high fr...

Re: First Build Experience: T39 with dual bp102's, 23" width

I cant imagine the time to cut dado's. Almost none. If you have a table mounted router with a fence it takes about ten seconds to dado the parts. Immediately after cutting to size on the table saw zip them over the router table. If you have your router table mounted in the extension wing of your ta...

Re: L-Pad question.

Just insert the LPad into the circuit between the crossover and the tweeter. LPads don't have polarity. They have a signal and ground, but the polarity of that signal and ground matters not.
