Re: DR build questions
Roger, thanks mate, it was more bringing the wires from the driver chamber through to the back, l was caught thinking l had to bring the wires through from the chamber through the horn throat closest to centre, not the case ay? I can run the wires wherever l like that way, just not out through the ...

Re: Maximum horn
You are correct but I do believe Butterworth is -3db at the crossover point LR is -6db. When you sum two Butterworth filters there will be added gain at the crossover frequency that may or may not need to be balanced. I think what's happening here is the stack is still horn loaded down to below 30h...

Re: Maximum horn
IIRC, 4th order Butterworth is 24dB/octave.
So your readings are a little higher than what you would expect.
It's still great to see that result though.
Nice!

Re: DR build questions
So central on the vertical plane? Whatever blows your hair back really. My first pair of 250's have the plate mounted centrally and horizontally. My second set, the plate is mounted vertically and centred about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. Don't forget to add a couple of reinforcing strips to...

Re: DR build questions
Greetings all, On page 14 of hifibobs T60 & DR280 build thread https://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19854&start=195 He uses a bit in the drill press to create a pocket style relief in the module for the mounting screws, what type of bit is it? Is it the pocket guide bit, or a ...

Re: TLAH line array for church
Is the TLAH line array 6 mid and 9 tweeters good to use in a very small church? The file states for 9 feet and greater, use the 6x9 version. Yes, TLAH would be great. The church volume is 10' wide by 30' depth by 8' high. What small sub-woofer will work for this room size? Sort of impossible to ans...

Re: T39: 4 x 20", 2 x 28" completed
For this revision, I nominate them MVT: Most Victorious Triumph.. My Victory Trick..? Most valuable tool man. Just like a 10mm socket. Or that digital angle guide I keep telling you to pick up :) I've always wondered if there is a router template bit that cuts, say 1/16" more with a bearing gu...

Re: T48 drivers
I do live bands indoors and out. I'll keep you guys updated. It's not the same cab, but the difference inbetween my 20" wide T39's and 28" wide T39's is astounding. So it's good advice to build wider (indeed, as wide a possible). I don't know if you pull a trailer around, but if not, time...

Re: T39: 4 x 20", 2 x 28" completed
Got to finishing these off today! Driver breakin: 20230911_141802.jpg I didn't have to cut the baffle out for the last 2 cabs. I found these circular 60 grit flap disks, which let me enlarge the driver spacing without removing the baffle. For this revision, I nominate them MVT: 20230915_103842.jpg L...

Re: T39: 4 x 20", 2 x 28" completed
I like your "fix" Grant! I have BP102s in my 20" T39s and someday I might go with the 3012s. I hadn't quite figured out how I was going to do it but, after seeing yours, I now know how I will do it. Yee haw! Good work you done did. Tom, I think you would have to approach it different...

Sorry, they're not in order, but top to bottom pics wise: 4 x KL301LF's to me. After the mod. Corner pieces of 1/4" ply as supports. Baffle enlargement completed and blocks applied. Radical Surgery. Baffle mod jigs with driver in place. Inner basket top, outer basket bottom. Pulled driver for t...

Re: T39: 4 x 20", 2 x 28" completed
Well, another update! In this thread: https://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26498 I asked about increased output by replacing the original BP102's in my 20" wide T39's with KL3010LF's. While the output wouldn't increase phenomenally, the advantage of being able to set and forget a ...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc
In this thread it's mentioned the Penn Elcom 1105 handle projection into the horn path of a DR280 isn't an issue, is this still valid? Pros/Cons of fitting them above or below the horn side braces? Sketchup shows them below. https://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?p=30429&hilit=DR280+h...
