Re: Lights under 1k
Looking to pick up a simple stage wash for outdoor/patio gigs, and I don't really want to bring out the DMX wiring and all that stuff. An idea I had was using 2 or 3 of these LED worklights: http://menards.inserts2online.com/Menards09112011MenardsFallCatalog/breakouts/b795598_19.jpg They might work ...

Re: Opinions of a Presonus 16.0.2 Wanted
I'd sell the Yamaha MG166CX too... do you really want to submix drums on an analog board where the channels won't have the fat channel? For smaller bands, the 16.4.2 seems plenty adequate (although I don't always mic toms and stuff) and just make friends with another local with the StudioLive to dai...

Re: Paint and finish ideas
If I put hydraulics on my subs to pop them up, will it cause problems with boundary coupling?
Also I hear having a gold "grill" is the way to roll, and that would work great on the front of some speakers!

Re: Lights under 1k
I have some of both... works well. The LED strips can work well sideways on speaker stands to wash the front of the stage, along with a couple of up-light LED pars in the front. Has anyone found a good way to mount LED lights on top of BFM speakers? Also why no love for CheapLights? I got some of th...

Re: Used Digital Mixers for Live Sound
Hey El, I didn't notice at first, but we're both in Minneapolis. Anyways I now use a StudioLive, so I have a couple things you could check out and possibly buy for cheap: RME 9652/36 24 ch digital I/O ADA 8000 8 ch preamp/ad/da Also if you need any help with live sound stuff, let me know. Sometimes ...

Re: Used Digital Mixers for Live Sound
Get the 01v with an ADAT I/O card.
Then pick up good rack preamps when the budget allows.
Down the line, you'll be most of the way to a SAC system.

Re: Mixer system for in ear
I've had a PreSonus StudioLive 1642 for about two years, and I love it. It can easily do all the mixes you need. Best part is they keep improving the product with firmware and connectivity to a network. Show up at a bar with no sound guy? Hand them L+R, pull out your ipad, and mix the show wirelessl...

Re: IPhone app for recording a line feed from a mixer?
Is there a way to line-in to the iphone/ipod without an external device using the dock plug? I know there are devices that allow mic ins, etc. Maybe there's pins in the connector for line in but you'd need a special cable.

Re: Mackie 1202 VLZ or ?
The MG124 looks good. Mute switches, faders and most importantly a pre-fader send.
Before I had the MultiMix, I had a MG82 which had 4 mic pres, which I returned. It felt incredibly cheaply constructed, and it lacked the features I just listed above.
