Re: bass standalone cabs
From what I've read so far, I'm tempted to suggest a T48 with and OTop12 on top. You'd damned sure hear that well....but, I have a feeling it would be overkill.....and stupid big and heavy for a bass rig.   I was thinking of buying 3 or 4 plans including some simplexx ones, so great...

Re: Hello from Southwest United Kingdom
So far, Basshead, it sounds like you made the right choice and built the appropriate cab for your needs the first time around. Other designs offer lower response, but none of the music references you posed will take advantage of it. T39 will do everything you require. Seth, did you use A...

Re: Hello from Southwest United Kingdom
BassheadUK2, would you like a half octave lower capability than what you had with the T39s? If yes, then go for the T30 as wide as you can transport (make cardboard mockups to try). I would say that anywhere above 24" is a start, going as wide as 30" if you can. The T30 won't go as loud as...

Welcome back!
What sort of music do you plan on reproducing? Try Audacity to see what a good bulk of the lows get down to.

Re: THT placement. Just pulled it out of retirement!
Basically what I want to do is put the enclosure behind the wall, but cut a opening in my room where the mouth will fire into, and as long as I seal it off good it should work... I don't have any issues with trying things, but would suck to customize the sub into the back area ( furnace area ) then...

Comatoast, welcome to the forum!
You could try using the THT outside of the listening room and see/hear how it sounds. Sub frequencies are omni-directional and you might find that it will work plenty well on the other side of a wall.

Re: Grant Bunter
There will be a celebration of Grants life in Ilfracombe on the 15th December which is his 60th birthday, so no formal service as such, they will scatter his ashes on the family farm as per his wishes. Please extend our sincerest condolences from all of us here on the forum. He had friends all over...
