Re: Rounded Edges

I used 3/8" roundover on both my T30s (1/2" BB, plastic stacking corners), as well as my Otop jarrays (1/4"BB, no corners due to the angles). I did use battens on the inside of the otops, just to give some bonus meat to the thin 1/4" sides when rounding over. Super strong, no iss...

Tubas - HT vs prosound

Just looking through the plans again as I debate what to build for my HT lowend, and wondering what the real performance difference is between the Tuba24 and the new small TableTuba. They both have the same outer dimensions. I was considering building a couple of the small TT's since they'll fit my ...

Re: SLP PRO Power Amplifier

I bought the DBX Driverack PA2!!! Is crazy how everything is out of stock…Hopefully, I will have all the speakers at the end of July and the driverack in September. Thanks everybody, Good move, I was worried for you going without a driverack. I have the PA2 as well, picked it up for under $200 with...

Re: What's to chat about?

If the consensus is that I'm a whacko and ya'll would rather I don't post this kinda stuff, I won't waste my time. It just seems to me that it's better to have something to read than nothing. And the expansion of the mind and our craft is valuable. Hey Whacko! This is your thread - you can post any...

Re: another project... jarray caddy

Tried to get a pic to show how I installed the anchor points. I think I’m going to remove a little material from both the sled and the jarray stacking base to make it a little easier to slip the pull strap carabiners on.

Re: another project... jarray caddy

Ha, no off road wheels, jimbo. Just some smooth-rolling, high-quality casters that were being discarded, so I just HAD to repurpose. I used u-bolts upside down, through t-nuts, the sled, and then the caster plate on all four corners so I have a place to clip a pull strap, plus they'll serve as ancho...

Re: another project... jarray caddy

Crud, thought I had some 1/4-20 machine screws to install the casters. Oh well, looks like I’ll be into this project for a few bucks instead of totally free.

another project... jarray caddy

Well, covid kept us from having the normal big neighborhood 4th of july event this year - mostly because of the cost of fireworks going way up. So I lost my normal summer BFM exercise. Oh well. Decided to build a caddy for my otops this weekend. Since they sound best in pairs, mine really don't come...

No, Seth. No. Not welcome. Another way to waste endless hours. Geez, stop already... No wonder I can't get my projects finished. :bash:

Re: Jack build European material

Don't open the sides. The Otops have handles that are open on the sides that serve as ports, but not the Jacks. Either use a surface mount handle, like the standard spring mount type which you can recess, or build a inner box to keep the sides tight. Can't wait to get a review from you when the cabs...

Re: What's to chat about?

Have a parallel kit to tie my two inverter generators together, 30A output. Put this little box together with scraps and such laying around. Fat 8 or 10g copper, 30a plug, ground fault outlet with weather cover. Used a sample piece of stainless a rep had given me ages ago for the top in case an elep...

Re: What solder do you use?

For audio and electronic stuff, I have .75mm for fine work, as it doesn't take much heat to flow, and 0.050" for hitting terminals on connectors and such. Never soldered giant electrical stuff - wouldn't trust solder for that kind of work. Doubt you'd find solder anywhere in your house's electr...

Re: Rivet removal?

Thanks Seth. Bunch of old iron, all free. 25 bucks to retrofit the case, which I've had for decades. Would be cool to have some new, light amps (don't you have a mess of 8ch ashley's?), but it's kinda fun to see what can be done for minimum $$$. I guess that's what BFM and diy is all about :-)
