Re: any phase traces out there?
Because they're still better than point source horns. Better than anything in their cost class, for diy, I’ll give you. Better than ALl point source horns? I’ll take the point source horns in my rcf boxes for sound quality and feedback control on stage any day, and the pattern is plenty wide. That s...

Re: any phase traces out there?
Respectfully, Huh? Planars have a much wider and smoother radiation pattern than the piezo arrays. There is almost no difference between on and off axis. If anything, MORE HF energy would have returned to the mics with the planars in the configuration they were deployed. That aside, I ran some side ...

Re: any phase traces out there?
There's nothing to be sorry about. You can't hear phase. You also can't hear response deviations at more than 1/6 octave resolution. That's why I don't even look at phase charts. If there's an issue with respect to phase in the crossover region it will show up on the response chart, if there's a re...

Re: any phase traces out there?
Thanks for the replies. That is not exactly what I expected, but it is exciting to see. What software are you using? I believe that was done with REW. It was probably seven or eight years ago at this point (those attachmnets were uploaded in November 2011, so sometime before that) so I don’t rememb...

Re: any phase traces out there?
I took two comparative traces of my DR200s when I had them, one with ribbons and the other with piezo arrays. Spl is uncalibrated and measurement conditions were not precisely identical but you’ll get the idea. And you don’t want to know what the unsmoothed Response of the melded arrays is. Sorry gu...

Re: How to build Rack Panels and put together a rack
Just a note on the sticking rack drawers... it’s a good idea to leave a rack space between. You can leave it open for loose storage or put a panel there... but the problem comes from the weight of the drawers. If your drawers have rear supports, sometimes fastening those a little higher, or just shi...

I cannot count the number of ways this one is offensive.
And for the record, there is absolutely no reason that I should be targeted with this type of ad.

Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)
I’ll track anything that comes up. As to a better way, The concept of sponsorship seems to fit pretty well... there is a very specific demographic of customer that visits this site. I’m obviously not sure what you need to take to keep it running, or what the traffic is, but you would seem to have se...

Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)
Yeah, there’s no reason that should be showing for me, except that I normally disable most of that tracking. Those have only been showing up in the last few days, and it is ONLY here. I get plenty of Adsense ads elsewhere and nothing like that ever shows up. Here’s the deal... this is a problem. You...

Re: Excessive ads on the mobile site (this post contains large images)
Just FYI.. the ads are back with a vengeance. You can no longer disable them in mobile browsers and the content of many the ads (dating and sex hookup sites) is highly inappropriate. No matter how many times you close them and go through the steps to tell Adsense they got it wrong, the inappropriate...

Re: BehringerMods (AudioSmile) DCX output upgrade report
My experience with the DCX has been that, when only used for crossover duty with moderate slopes (24db or less) they generally sound OK on entry level Systems. Load up the DSP more than that or get a better system and the flaws begin to show when compared to even something like the VENU360 or Ashly...

Re: No posts in HT setup..can anyone help?
You allowed a whole three minutes for someone to help you. Not a great first impression. If you want to use Bill’s designs for HT, the standard setup is the THT sub, TLAH for front LR, SLA curved for center, and the little wedgie thing for surrounds. Kits are available at www.speakerhardware.com. Al...

They smell the same to me, and i’ve Heard similar observations as yours from both former smokers, and as mine from non-smokers. Wonder what the psychology is behind that?

Re: Getting pub smoke out of gear.
I have to wonder how much of the desensitization is part of the addiction. We came up against that head-on last week. We took the kids to a park to enjoy the nice afternoon, and another family was there... no big deal, obviously, until several of them lit up Inside the playground area. The whole par...
