Re: DIY Portable Uplights build

I'm really fond of the Monoprice hex pars. Super bright, really small, and the fans are quiet.

Re: Good video on sub placement

Interference. When delayed (and placed) properly, the output from subs will reinforce itself in some directions while being reduced by destructive interference in other directions.

Re: Max Voltage during Live Sound???

I've heard that multimeters can't always track actual music signals very well, which is why one is advised to set the limiters with sine waves. Perhaps that's what you are seeing?

Decent wireless mics?

Any suggestions for a handheld wireless mic that would be decently rugged and fairly inexpensive? This would be for announcements and kareoke, nothing fancy but I'd rather buy once.

Normally Monoprice would be my go-to, but they don't carry one yet!

Re: Titan 48s on a QSC 3602?

Hook up a voltmeter, feed your mixer with a sine wave tone within the sub's passband, and turn the limiter down until you cannot exceed the max voltage listed in the plans for the driver you used. That's basically it!

Re: Hello from Virginia

I'd strongly consider T39's instead of T24's, especially for outdoors. If packspace makes them an option of course.

Re: Melded Array Difuser Dowel - which glue?

I used a plastic tube of the same width as the dowel and glued it to the array with the same glue used to stick the tweeters together.

Re: t 39 build

Yes, only modify the width. More with will not give you deeper frequency response (the limit stays at 45hz) but it will give you more volume.

Groups of 4 or more T39's will have response to 40hz. This is described in the plans under discussion of limiting, I think towards the end?

Re: Review of the Pono player

Maybe it's just our society now.....everybody gets a participation award so they don't get their feelings hurt. So, on the recording, everybody has to be equal and be at the same volume to keep everybody's self esteem intact. Wouldn't want that lead vocal to be louder than the tambourine player.......

Re: Greetings from Albany

I started with a Jack flat pack and they really aren't that hard, not a bad place to start.

If you're building tops the SLA pros are a real easy build and work great...I haven't touched my Jacks since I built mine!

Re: DJ lighting advice needed

First up to buy are wash lights. Any recommendation on specific lights i should be considering? Lights with the big 3w+ LED's are great. The newest ones combine the LED's behind the lens so you don't have the RGB grid look, like http://www.chauvetlighting.com/slimpar-tri-7-irc.html or if you perfer...
